Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Shocker Air lunette ring trailer tongue mount with the square plate mount. Has a 20,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now, this is a shock absorbing trailer lunette ring, which features this nice industrial strength air bag and these cushioned bump stops on each side here to help dampen any chucking and road shock. So, basically, this Shocker Air system is a miniature air suspension unit that mounts between your truck and your trailer.

Basically, they'll add life to your truck and your trailer by reducing wear and tear on the truck's driveline and frame as well as the frame of the trailer. So, they'll let you treat yourself, your equipment, and even your passengers to a lot smoother ride. As we mentioned, this does bolt to a trailer tongue flat plate on front of your trailer A-frame style trailer. It's often used on equipment and dump trailers. And it does fit the trailers with the square plate four-bolt mount.

Has a 4 1/2 inch square bolt pattern. And we mentioned that when we say 4 1/2 inch, that's the bolt pattern of these mounting holes. Center to center horizontally, 4 1/2 inches, and center to center vertically, 4 1/2 inches. Now, basically, this air hitch works like a seesaw with the air bag on one end and the trailer coupler on the other end. So, basically, when you're hooked up, as your trailer exerts force upward, downward, backward, forward, this unit will pivot.

And the air bag and the bump stops, one on each side here, help absorb the energy for a lot smoother ride. The pivot point is right down here. They do make, use grade 50 steel plate construction on this, and it is shot blasted and powder coated to prevent rust. And the air bag we mentioned right up here, it is easily adjustable. Right here, you can see it has a valve stem on it.

If you take off your valve cap, hook your air hose to that, pump air in or release air, whatever you need. Basically, it's adjustable. So, if you have heavier loads, you wanna add more air. If it's a lighter load, let some of the air out. And a way to tell how much air to put in there, what you wanna do is load your trailer the way it's gonna be when you tow it. And then inflate the air bag until these bump cushions right here on each side, they start to compress. Once they start to compress, that'll get you the correct air pressure in there. Put your valve cap on and you're all ready to go. If you notice on the pivot point right down here, on one side, they do have a grease zerk fitting here that allows you to connect your grease gun to and pump grease into the pivot point. Helps make maintenance very simple. And this part is made in the USA. Few specs, again, on this, the gross towing weight capacity is 20,000 pounds. Tongue weight capacity is 2,000 pounds. And the last thing I wanna give you is just the dimensions on the lunette ring. The overall diameter, which is gonna be measured from this end to this end, if we put a ruler on that, you can see is gonna be right at six inches. And then the inside diameter, which is the inside of the hole is right at three inches.
